No White dress for me!

One of the pivotal symbol of any wedding day is the dress- duhhhh! Who am I to change history therefore, naturally my first post would have to do with "thee" ultimate garment you will ever don on your body.  I've been engaged for two weeks now and although we haven't really dived into the wedding plans as of yet, I have become a wedding dress fiend.  I have nothing against white dresses, in fact, I plan on wearing one during the reception but the main event dress would be in the soft feminine shade of.....drum roll please.....

.... BLUSH
Relax, although I think Lisa's dress was gorgeous in the movie "Coming to America," I don't necessarily want to walk down the aisle resembling a bottle of pepto bismo.  However, I do think the wardrobe stylist in the movie had the right idea-when you go against conventional go big or go home!

GASP- was the response I received once I told my mom my plan.  For as long as I could remember, I wanted to wear Blush, a soft rose shade of pink wedding dress.  As groundbreaking as I thought I was, blush/pink dresses seems to be on-trend. Tons of high end designers (Lazaro, Amsale, etc) are boasting this shade including the amazing Vera Wang who is head on with a selection of romantic wedding dresses to die for.

Sensing a theme here? I think my dress "fit" would likely be "fit-and-flare" or "mermaid."  In true CurvEnvy fashion, I want my curves to be showcases yet I still want that whimsical romantic vibe.  Fitted on top but playful and princess like on the bottom.  The ruching effect on the bodice helps to camouflage the belly yet still accentuating the figure. The corset lace up back helps to cinch in or loosen the bodice area.

What do you guys think?

I can't wait to hit the bridal parlors and try on my "ideal" dress.  To be continued!

CurvEnvy Weds

Welcome!

If you've landed on this new blog, chances are you know me from my original blog, CurvEnvy.  On October 13th 2013, on a hot and beautiful night in Puerto Rico, the most loving man I've ever known proposed to me with a gorgeous diamond ring in a cheetah ring box- he knows me so well.  In researching all things wedding related along with being a fashion blogger and all, I thought it'd be a great idea to chronicle my year of planning for all to read, be inspired by and of course, learn from in a separate blog so that not to inundate my regular following. At this point, we haven't set a date nor decided between a destination wedding or staying here at home in NYC.  Not to mention, I haven't pinpointed my wedding colors nor style.  All we do know is we will be going with a NYC theme wedding in that complete with showcasing new york landmarks which relates to how we met and our first date.

I hope you all join me and let's get to the planning!!
